RIO 2016: Wayde Van Niekerk betters Michael Johnson, it’s a new World Record on 400m (VIDEO)

After the record established on women 10.000m  by Almaz Ayana, this time is the hystorical men 400m record to fall.

The South African world champion Wayde Van Niekerk after a quick start enters the final 100m with a small advantage on Kirani James and LaShawn Merrit, but it’s in that exact moment that Van Niekerk astonishes the whole stadium changing pace. The gap rapidly increases, making the spectators understanding that something incredible is happening. The final time speaks: 43″03.

Destroyed the previous limit owned by Michael Johnson with 43″18, Van Niekerk raises himself on the top of the all-time list.
