How many times did we find ”negative” debates between school and sport?
A new one popped up this time but, luckly, it is not at all negative! Usain bolt donated one and half million dollars to his ex school in Falmouth, Jamaica, the “William Knibb Memorial High School“, to support the sport programmes troubled by financial problems.
Apart from this donation the Jamaican sprinter also provided sport equipment to let the young kids train, such as fifty pairs of football shoes, shin guards and more football material branded Usain Bolt, in order to support the school’s team during the ISSA FLOWDaCosta Cup, a football competitions among schools. Furthermore, every year the athletics team receives Puma equipment, on Bolt’s request.
The Jamaican sprinter was present for the delivery of all this material, taking the occasion to greet teachers and stay with kids, taking also some selfie in the meanwhile.
“The William Knibb played a extremely relevant role in the athlete and man I am today. Therefore, everytime they call me or if there is something I can do to repay the debt, I am more than eager to do it”.
Bolt has once more showed that he is not only a champion on the track, but also in everyday life.
