The gazes of the fastest runners of the moment will meet again: one of them kept the crown of fastest person in the world, the other who longed so much for World gold medal.
Usain Bolt and Justin Gatlin, once the World Championships will be in the archives, will put up a new show in a Diamond League leg, the Memorial Van Damme of Bruxelles, a meeting which was always famous for its great surprises and results.
The two sprinters will not compete in the same race though; in fact, Justin Gatlin will run in the 100m while Usain Bolt in the 200m with an eye on the Olympic meeting in Rio 2016 which will allegedly be as intense as Beijing in these days.
Let us enjoy these last days of the World Championships to eventually head back to the great show offered by the World-roaming athletics.
Bruxelles has gifted us of many world records so far, since 1981 when Sebastian Coe ran a mile in 3’47”33 , up to our days and more precisely in 2012, when Aries Merritt achieved the 110hs record, running in 12”80.
