Renaud LavillenieLed by the world record holder Renaud Lavillenie, France will be represente in Beijing by 45 athletes striving for a medal at the World Championships.

“Le roi” of pole vault will try to catch the only medal missing in his palmares, the World Champion title. Two years ago he had to leave the title to the German Holzdeppe,  who just few weeks ago has marked his new PB of 5,94m and for sure will not make the challenge easy. We’ll see if the French will succeed in reaching a new goal in his already successfull career.

French hurdles school continues to produce top level athletes. In China will run for the the 110hs final Dimitri Bascou, Garfield Darien and Pascal Martinto-Lagarde, missing Wilhel Belocian. For the women race instead the honour is all on Cindy Billaud‘s legs.

Sprint represented by Jimmy Vicaut (100m) and Chistophe Lemaitre (100m e 200m) who will face the carribean and american power. Both will take part in the 4x100m relay too, historically a really good opponent for the americans.

In 800m Pierre-Ambroise Bosse could really try to get a place in the first 8 in the world. Final is not so far.

On the triple jump pit the European Champion Benjamin Compaore will try to be a protagonist in an event jumped so far this year.

But French team is missing some to athletes who could have run for a medal, like Teddy Tamgho, Eloyse Lesueur, world record holder Yohan Diniz and Mahiedine Mekhissi.
