PORTLAND2016: Eatons leading the combined events, 400m heats concluded

In the pentathlon 60hs the fastest athlete was Brianne Theinsen-Eaton (8″04, PB) who gained 1.12o points, the second one was Anastasiya Mokhnyuk (8″11, PB) with 1.104 points while the third was Alina Fodorova (8″27, PB) with 1.068 points. In the heptathlon 60m instead Ashton Eaton won with 6″81 gaining 951 points, behind him Oleksiy Kasyanov (6″86) with 933 points and Samuel Remedios (6″93) with 907 points. 

For the qualifying rounds of the double lap, only the fastest two got through a heat; the Qatari, Abdelelah Haroun came up on top with 46″24 and Deon Lendore with 46″38. The current 400m Indoor World champion, Pavel Maslak, run the fifth time in 46″57.

It was a bad evening for the Jamaican Chrisann Gordon who, after having lose her balance on the starting blocks, was sent out of the track by the other runners and she did not manage to complete the two races. The best time was set by Oluwakemi Adekoya in 52″27, the second by Stephenie Ann McPherson in 52″56 while the third by Kabange Mupopo, the Zambian athlete who, running in 52″72, set the new National Indoor Record.

The heptathlon long jump concluded as well; on the first place Asthon Eaton again, with a seasonal record 8.08m gaining 1.081 points. The American mate Curtis Beach jumped 7.65m, seasonal record for him too, achieving 972 points.
