NEWS: Oscar Pistorius will be released on the 21st of August

Oscar PistoriusOnly 10 months have passed since Oscar Pistorius ended up in Pretoria jail because he shot and killed her girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, on St. Valentine Day in 2013, but on the 21th of August he will be released.

The South African law states that the imprisoned may go out if he follows a good behavior so, for this reason, the five-years sentence for reckless homicide of Pistorius was precisely decreased to 10 months and he will complete his conviction under house arrest at his uncle’s residence.

However, the prosecution asked for a new appeal, that will take place in November, in which they will try to prove that it was intentional homicide and therefore ask for a 15 year detention.

After the release, Pistorius will likely desire to come back to the track but the Paraolympics Games Commission has forbidden his presence to the competitions but, if he won’t commit any infraction that could increase his sentence to 3 years, he could compete for 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
